Valerie Schwankl is an acupuncturist in Bozeman, MT at Vitality Acupuncture.Valerie Schwankl is an Acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist licensed by the Montana Board of Medical Examiners. She serves as a Diplomat of Oriental Medicine, by the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Valerie looks forward to serving the Bozeman and Big Sky communities with her training and experience in Sports Acupuncture and Classical Chinese medicine.

Valerie has completed the 60 hour intensive Acupuncture Sports Medicine Apprenticeship Program. She was mentored by Whitfield Reaves, OMD, LAc., who authored, "The Acupuncture Handbook of Sports Injuries and Pain". This apprenticeship program emphasized not only the treatment of common sports injuries, but also athletic performance enhancement.

Valerie Schwankl received her Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAOM) degree from Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts, in Asheville, NC. During her training at Daoist Traditions, she was fortunate to study under Master Jeffrey Yuen, an 88th-generation Daoist Priest from the Jade Purity School of Daoism. He has served as a principal figure in bringing Classical Chinese Medicine to the West. Her study into the Classical roots of Chinese medicine has led to a deeper connection to her own health journey, and has expanded her perception of how to help each patient individually.

Her curriculum at Daoist Traditions included four years of intensive western medical training, alongside acupuncture, herbal medicine, tui na massage, Chinese dietary therapy, Qi Gong, and essential oil medicine. She is trained in 5 Elements acupuncture theory, and is experienced using the five complement channel systems which include the Sinew, Luo, Primary, Eight Extraordinary and Divergent acupuncture channels. Her clinical training included 4 years and over 800 hours of internship experience.
